You can plan multiple visit to the Red Rock Canyon with the many hiking trails available. The following includes some of the Red Rock Canyon hiking trails with information provided on each one.

* Moenkopi Trail - an easy 2 mile hike where you will get a panoramic view of the Wilson Cliffs. Along the way you can see Triassic fossils and get a very good idea of what desert plants grow in this area. The trail starts at the visitor’s center and loops its way along a limestone ridge. There are also trails that connect with the Calico Trail.

* Calico Trail - since you can access this trail at various points, the distance will depend on your start and end location. Some of the sections of the trail offer easy hiking while others are for moderate hiking. The trail winds its way from Calico Basin to Sandstone Quarry along the Calico Rocks

* Turtlehead Peak - This trail is for serious hikers as its five mile hike is very strenuous. You start at Sandstone Quarry and hike over washes, ravines and a steep ridge to the top

* Keystone Thrust - this 2.2 mile hike is moderate in nature. You are walking uphill along a jeep road, into a canyon and onto the Keystone thrust Fault where you will see many different shades of limestone.

* White Rock - there are two trails from White Rock. One leads to Willow Springs and the other is to the La Madre Springs Loop. The first trail is 4.4 miles round trip and is easy to moderate. The second trail is 6 miles round trip and this too is moderate. You will hike both up and down hills, over ridges and along old diurt roads.

* Lost Children’s Discovery Trail - this trail is very popular with school groups, so you may find it crowded at times. It is an easy hike and is only 0.7 of a mile. The trail leads to a natural waterfall.

* Icebox Canyon - this is a moderately strenuous 2.5 mile hike from the time you start until you are back at the beginning. You will find yourself hiking around and between boulders. You can also hike to the impressive seasonal waterfall, but this is very strenuous and is a further 0.5 miles.
